After a period of time living separately in different world, Conner and Alex Bailey barely have no time to communicate each other. Conner was back to his boring school life meanwhile Alex was in training with her grandmother. One day, Conner was sent to Germany to attend a reading event held at Grimm's cemetery fortunately accompanied by his crush, Bree. There, he figured out that the never-been-discovered stories from the legendary Brother Grimm which were read during the reading event were simply like the stories his Dad ever told him. It made him curious that Brother Grimm had ever visited the Fairy Tale World.

His curiosity brought him to a discovery that there was something bad which was about to happen to the Fairy Tale World. He had urgency to inform Alex before it was too late. But it seemed that Alex was out of reach. Ready or not, Conner had to go to Fairy Tale World to warn the fairies. Fortunately, he found the way to go to Fairy Tale World by the aids from Mother Goose, Bree, and Emerich (a museum-keeper boy living in Germany).

However, Conner was simply late. The bad thing had reached Fairy Tale World. They were a group of French Soldier led by a cruel commander. Their mission was to conquer the Fairy Tale World despite the real world. They came from the era of Brother Grimm, in which they had been being trapped in the portal to Fairy Tale World for ages.

Even though Conner, Bree, and Emerich had made it to the Fairy Tale World, but they still had to face the war against a group of French Soldier. Everyone in the Fairy Tale World, who had been living in peace recently, was not ready to start a war. Even the fairies were not. Despite the attack from a group of French Soldier, they also need to fight against greater attack coming afterwards. The French Soldiers, which came alone in the first time, did not come alone anymore. They came with powerful villains from prisons around the kingdoms, even they were planning to raise a Dragon by some aids from suspicious "Masked Man". And it had been known for ages that dragon was the long lost enemy of the fairies.

The French Soldiers and their allies outnumbered the fairies. In order to win the war, fairies must gather various power from any creatures in the Fairy Tale World. Soldiers, Goblins, Trolls, even Elves should unite their power to stand against the war. But, the biggest problem is that, Fairy God Mother was dying and Alex had no idea how to unite other creatures living in the Fairy Tale World as if she found that many of those creatures disliked the fairies since the beginning. Besides, the suspicious Masked Man who was trying to break down Fairy Kingdom was not a stranger. Alex knew him most of her life.
~o~

A Grimm Warning is the third book of The Land of Stories Sequels. I should admit that I am kinda addicted to The Land of Stories that I could not stop reading each sequel. And this third book is worth reading. It is recommended for those who love reading fairy-tale retelling.

The main characters in this story are The Twins: Alex Bailey (now a fairy) & Conner Bailey, the French Soldiers, Masked Man (an evil villain living in a prison for such a long time), and Mother Goose (a fairy).

The setting of place is mainly in Fairy Tale World where various magical creatures are living, and where plenty magical stories are made. The time setting is in modern time and in such Fairy Tale World time.

The conflicts appearing in this story are divided into physical conflict and mental conflict. The physical conflict is mostly about the war against The French Soldies and their allies as well as against the villains and the dragon. Meanwhile the mental conflict is about how Alex handle the situation while her Grandmother is dying and how Alex fights against the pain she feel after figuring out who the suspicious Masked Man is.

The plot used in this story moves forward, even in some chapters it moves backward as retelling some events happening in the past. However, it flows smoothly that it is very easy to catch up.

The third book of The Land of Stories is much intriguing and thrilling than the first two books. It brings more conflicts and mind games to the readers. Even though it is categorized as children/teenager book, but I found that this book is also interesting for adults. See you on the next sequel ^^

My rating: 4 out of 5 crowns

~Happy Reading~
